Hello everyone, it's your friendly neighborhood recruitment officer, here to talk to you about st_respect and Ship Wars! You may have seen some rumblings about this the first time I posted and now we're on to our second stage of recruiting!

Ship Wars is a friendly competition in which different Star Trek ships (pairings, if you've never heard that term) compete with art, fiction, and macros! McChekov is a small ship with 12 members currently but we would love to see some new faces! It does require pretty active participation and an LJ is advised (though if you don't have one and still want to play, I will happily make arrangements).

Huge thank you to my artist, who not only made such beautiful illustrations for the story, but also kept me going on this when I wanted to throw in the towel. And huge thank you to my beta and fanmixer, who stepped up to the plate when I feared I wouldn't get this betad at all, and made a mix that I think fits the story just perfectly. Go, look, listen, flail like me :-)

Summary: While on shore leave McCoy gets involved in a card game. What does he win? A sexy little seventeen year old Russian. He has no idea what to do with the kid, but ends up taking him back to the ship, where he learns that Chekov was kidnapped from some starbase years ago and his parents are dead. When the Enterprise runs into a crippled shuttle escaping what the survivors claim was a Federation-led massacre, Chekov thinks it's the same pirates as killed his parents. Now he and McCoy must infiltrate the base, rescue the princess and see if they can remember how to live happily ever after.
